Dash Pull Off Thrilling 4-3 Win in Extras
|
Winston-Salem starter Jase Velasquez pitched well against the Oxford Owls at BB&T Ballpark. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3, in 11 innings. Winston-Salem reliever Dylan Allen picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Mason Scott absorbed the loss. Winston-Salem is now 82-47, Oxford 66-63.
The Dash got a clutch hit from center fielder Neil Walthall. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Dash.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Oxford manager Yasel Pimentel.
