Mariners Stick Fire Frogs with 3-0 Loss
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Osceola County Stadium.
Evan Eget pitched well, but the Florida Fire Frogs still lost the game, falling, 3-0, to the Virginia Beach Mariners at Osceola County Stadium. Owen Butler notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4.1 innings. His record now sits at 3-2.
Virginia Beach used a well-timed hit by Louie Schleif to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Mariners ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We take it day by day here," said Schleif, "and today was a good one for us."
The Mariners improved to 66-65.
