Fire Frogs Handed 6-1 Loss
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Salem Red Sox and Florida Fire Frogs.
Salem Red Sox pitcher Luke Cody was in fine form, leading his team past the Florida Fire Frogs, 6-1. Randy Mohs picked up the save, his 10th.
Salem second baseman Declan Jones Jr. contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 72nd hit of the season and put the Red Sox ahead, 3-1.
Jones Jr. called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
The Red Sox saw their record improve to 53-73.
