Pellini Silences Tampa Bats
|
The Charlotte Stone Crabs called upon starter Chase Pellini, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Tampa Tarpons, 8-1. The win for the Stone Crabs lifted their record to 65-63.
Pellini, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 8-7. In 8 innings of work, Pellini gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while racking up 9 Ks. He kept the Tarpons punchless, offensively.
"Chase was really on it," said Charlotte manager Joe Cline. "He's got a feel for playing with the hitter front-to-back, side-to-side."
