Thanks in large part to center fielder Jon Crowe, the Tampa Tarpons beat the Charlotte Stone Crabs, 5-3. Crowe went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Cooper Gee earned the win to go to 1-1. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. Nat Cabral recorded his 27th save for Tampa.

Tampa used a clutch at-bat from Elijah Hofstad to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Tarpons ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Keep grinding," said Crowe, "and good things are bound to happen."
