The umbrellas came out during the Texas-Montreal contest at Olympic Stadium.

Behind a fine performance from River Grote, the Texas Rangers knocked off the Montreal Expos, 7-3. Grote was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Rangers. The Rangers bumped their record to 32-25 with this win.

With Texas leading 4-3 in the top of the ninth, Grote hit a run-scoring single off Montreal hurler Eddie Pendergast. It was the 59th hit of the season for Grote and put his team ahead, 5-3.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Grote said after the game.
