Spikes Win Wild Card Series
|
State College Spikes won a nail-biting series against the Connecticut Tigers 4-3, wrapping up the Wild Card Series finale 2-0 at Bowman Field.
Spikes right fielder Trefor Van de Veer was named the series MVP.
He batted .333, drove in 4 runs and scored 2 to lead State College into the next round of play.
"Trefor was real solid for us, real solid," said Spikes manager Bobby Spencer. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time."
