Oilers Fall Short, 3-2, at Vermont
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters eked out a 3-2 win versus the Oil City Oilers at Centennial Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Mitchell Lee. He was terrific. Lee picked up the win for Vermont, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 5-3. With the victory, the Lake Monsters upped their record to 38-26.
Mitchell Rutkowski, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2049 draft, aided the Vermont cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder drove in one run.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Lee.
