Tri-City Absorbs 3-1 Loss to Boise
|
Getting an impressive start from Alfonso Hernandez, Boise beat Tri-City by the score of 3-1. Cameron Krause, 1-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. Donald Umphenour closed the door for Boise, picking up his 9th save of the year.
The Hawks got a big at-bat from designated hitter Fernando Tavera. For the game, Tavera went 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Boise a 2-1 lead.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Hernandez.
Boise occupies 6th place in the Northwest League South Division at 29-27.
