Maner Smacks 5 Hits for Hillcats
|
Alexander Maner exploded for a barrage of base hits at Calvin Falwell Field.
The Lynchburg right fielder had a field day in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Florida Fire Frogs, finishing 5-for-5.
"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."
Maner must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Alexander Maner doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This year, Maner has hit at a .308 clip with 64 hits, 6 home runs, 28 RBIs and 28 runs scored.
