Stompers Win Again, Streak Now at 10
|
Sonoma starter Romeo Rodrigues pitched well against the Napa Silverados at Bright House Field. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-2. Rodrigues picked up the win for Sonoma, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 1 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. The loss lowers the Napa record to 8-11.
J.J. Maslach had a big 2-run double for the Stompers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Sonoma leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Woody Albrecht and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stompers ahead, 5-2.
"We've been playing some good baseball," Maslach told the Sonoma Bulletin. "We're aggressive and focused on what we're going to do on the field and getting it done."
