Charlotte Triumphs with Late Surge

Charlotte pitcher Perry Maddox had a large part in his team beating the Cocoa Flyers, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Charlotte reliever Kaleb Austin snagged the win, upping his record to 7-3. Luke Bourque shouldered the loss. Charlotte has a record of 69-50, placing them third in the East Coast League Florida Division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Charlotte second baseman Ximenes Armenta, facing Luke Bourque, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Stone Crabs the 3-2 win.
"We're rolling right now," said Armenta. "We're playing good baseball."
