The St. Lucie Mets topped the Cocoa Flyers, 3-1, in East Coast League action at Tradition Field. The standout performance belonged to St. Lucie pitcher and Chesterfield Township, Michigan, native Brady Sheffield. Jonathan de Kroon was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 23 of 28 save opportunities. St. Lucie is now 39-80, while Cocoa is 50-69.

In the top of the ninth, Aiden Freeman stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Flyers were trailing 3-1, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Jonathan de Kroon made a terrific pitch and Freeman popped out. Gone was the dream of a Cocoa comeback.
