Winston-Salem pitcher Jase Velasquez did his part in helping his team beat the St. Lucie Mets, 4-0. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Brandon Wiest picked up the save, his 3rd. Winston-Salem raised its record to 74-40 with the win.

Winston-Salem used a clutch at-bat from Chico Recinos to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Dash ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"This is truly a great team to play with," Velasquez said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
