Starting pitcher Owen Prewitt did his part in helping the Hudson Valley Renegades thwart the Traverse City Pit Spitters, 5-1. The winning pitcher was Prewitt, now 9-3. He tossed 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Hudson Valley is now 68-48, Traverse City 52-64.
Phillip Villarreal, the 22-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Villarreal contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Hudson Valley up, 2-1.
