Red Sox Come Back Late to Clip Mariners
In a low-scoring affair between Salem Red Sox and the Virginia Beach Mariners, pitcher Luke Herrera was the difference-maker. The Salem right-hander handcuffed the opposition, to help his team pocket a 2-1 win. The 7th-place Red Sox are 52-64.

The decisive blow was delivered by Garry Watson in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Jerry Daniels to win the game for Salem. The home crowd went nuts.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Salem manager Condon Murrell. "Our pregame was pretty good."
