The Winston-Salem Dash had to overcome a good performance from Lynchburg pitcher Eric Blackman to claim a 3-2 win at BB&T Ballpark. Blackman went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The loss makes Lynchburg 44-71.

The knockout blow came in the bottom of the tenth inning. That's when catcher Thomas Himes stepped to the plate with runners on 1st and 2nd and hit a run-scoring single, to win the ballgame.

"That's baseball," said Lynchburg manager Jon Hundley. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
