Hillcats Rally to Win
Virginia Beach catcher Louie Schleif had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Schleif was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, even as Lynchburg beat the Mariners, 6-5, in 11 innings. Lynchburg reliever Jim Cocroft got the win, raising his record to 4-2. Isidro Silvar was tagged with the loss. Lynchburg is in 6th place in the East Coast League Mideast Division with a record of 54-58.

The Hillcats got a clutch hit from center fielder Feo Bravo. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Hillcats.

"We earned that one," said Bravo.
