Carolina Slaps 4-3 Loss on Winston-Salem
|
The Carolina Mudcats cut down the Winston-Salem Dash by the score of 4-3, with the largest share of the credit going to second baseman Brantley Dawson. Dawson went 1-2 with 2 walks for the Mudcats. The win was credited to 24-year old right-handed pitcher Garth Holland in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Hunter Reid took the loss. Ryan Huyck notched his 22nd save of the season.
Américo Valdovinos helped out the Carolina cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the designated hitter drove in one run.
"I was a little disappointed," said Winston-Salem manager George Spencer. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The win makes Carolina 55-57.
