Renegades Slip Past Jupiter, 6-5
|
The Hudson Valley Renegades got a hard-earned win over the Jupiter Hammerheads, 6-5, in 17 innings. B.J. Blackstock provided some offensive muscle for Hudson Valley. He was 3 for 6 with a home run, 2 singles, and 3 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Hudson Valley, at 65-45, holds down second place in the East Coast League Mideast Division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 17th inning, when Hudson Valley third baseman Hunter Berg, facing C.J. Merrick, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Renegades the 6-5 win.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Berg.
