Rattlers Deal Medford 5-3 Defeat
|
Medford second baseman Angel Santellana had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 5-3, to Redmond at Ron Tonkin Field. Santellana hit 2 home runs. Redmond pitcher Nolan Ryan earned the win, hiking his record to 3-1. Ronaldo Ramírez suffered the loss. The third-place Rattlers sport a record of 31-25.
Redmond right fielder Tom Berumen contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 43rd hit of the season and put the Rattlers ahead, 5-3.
Said Medford manager Jonathan Lazaro: "They just got the better of us."
