The Florida Fire Frogs knocked off the Carolina Mudcats by the score of 8-6. Barton Palumbo provided some pop, going 3-for-4 with 1 home run. Daniel Wheatley earned the win in relief. Joe Preiss had a big bases-clearing triple for the Fire Frogs in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Florida leading 5-4 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Maxwell Sayers and swatted a triple to right. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fire Frogs ahead, 8-4.
