No matter what the Pittsburg Diamonds threw at him, Ruben Rodríguez hit it. He easily handled Diamonds pitching, going 6 for 6 and helping the Giants triumph, 12-3, at San Jose Municipal Stadium.

"The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.

Told of Rodríguez's quip, Diamonds skipper Joe Reyes said he "would take him up on that next time."
