Flying Tigers Stick Dash with 5-3 Loss
|
Despite a great performance by Winston-Salem center fielder Patrick MacPherson, the Lakeland Flying Tigers defeated the Dash by the score of 5-3 at BB&T Ballpark. MacPherson was 2-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. Rafe Arias snagged the win in relief. In 3.1 innings, the right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits. He's now 1-0 on the season. Picking up the save was Alton Caba, his 22nd.
Lakeland used the timely hitting of Luís Larios to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Flying Tigers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Larios said after the game.
The Flying Tigers raised their record to 55-52.
