Andrews Slugs 2 Home Runs, Hillcats Beat Blue Jays, 8-5
|
Solomon Andrews led the Lynchburg Hillcats to a nifty 8-5 win over the Dunedin Blue Jays. The Lynchburg second baseman was a force of nature. He banged out 3 extra-base hits, including 2 home runs and 1 double. Lynchburg reliever Richie McAdams picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Victor Leek took the loss. Erik Burris recorded the save, his 16th.
Jake James had a big 2-run home run for the Hillcats in the top of the sixth inning. With Lynchburg trailing 5-4 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Victor Leek and swatted a home run to left. It was his 6th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hillcats ahead, 6-5.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," James said after the game.
Lynchburg has a record of 53-50, placing them 7th in the East Coast League Mideast Division.
