Hammerheads Stay Hot, Beat Owls, 2-1

Jupiter starter Kelly Reed put a stranglehold on the Oxford offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Hammerheads to a 2-1 win. In 8 innings, Reed surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Nathan Oko got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Jupiter used a timely hit from Gato Salas to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Hammerheads ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We'll keep riding this wave as long as we can," said Hammerheads manager Eric Goines.
Jupiter has now reeled off 11 straight wins.
