The Virginia Beach Mariners downed the St. Lucie Mets, 3-1. The hitting star was left fielder Mike Alexander. Alexander was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times for the Mariners. Virginia Beach pitcher Luc Crête got the win. He's now 13-4. Rudy Royal was tagged with the loss. The third-place Mets now sit at 58-41.

Virginia Beach took a 3-1 lead on Alexander's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Rudy Royal in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Virginia Beach to the win.
