Pit Spitters Capture Close Win

The Traverse City Pit Spitters finished things off in style.
The Traverse City Pit Spitters defeated the Salem Red Sox by the score of 6-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Eli Gardner. Gardner went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Pit Spitters on the day. Traverse City bumps their record to 30-68 with the win.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Traverse City trailing 5-4, Gardner jumped on a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Jaxon Patterson and hit a 2-run home run to right. With one swing, the Pit Spitters had a walk-off win.
"This house was rockin'," Gardner said.
