Blue Jays Squelch Stone Crabs Offense in Shutout Win
|
In a low-scoring game between the Dunedin Blue Jays and the Charlotte Stone Crabs, pitcher Carlos Saucedo was the difference-maker. The Dunedin right-hander was tough as nails in the 3-0 Blue Jays win. Saucedo, now 4-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing no runs. Jaxon Renuka earned the save for Dunedin, his 5th of the year.
Dunedin first baseman Maxwell Ward contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a cutter to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 84th hit of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 3-0.
