The Auburn Doubledays wasted no time taking the lead in the Divisional Series, beating the Vermont Lake Monsters at Centennial Field by the score of 5-2. The win gives Auburn a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Doubledays right-hander De'quan Mohammed threw 8.0 innings allowing 2 runs.

Santiago Mora hit a run-scoring triple off Jackson Stokes in the top of the eighth, which put the Doubledays in front, 3-2. In addition to the triple, Mora had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.

"De'quan pitched like a champ," said Auburn manager Carlos Renteria.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Centennial Field in Burlington.
