Fading Emeralds Lose 6th Straight
|
In a low-scoring game between the Yakima Valley Pippins and the Eugene Emeralds, pitcher Santiago Bobadilla was the difference-maker. The Yakima Valley right-hander was tough as nails in the 3-2 Pippins win. In 8 innings, Bobadilla surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Eugene now owns a losing streak of 6 games.
K.J. Morris, who is tied for 9th in the NWL in bases on balls with 21, had a direct impact on the outcome. Morris contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Yakima Valley up, 3-2.
"Swagger goes hand in hand with playing well," said Yakima Valley manager Victor Arias.
