Big Day by Long Ignites Aztecs Win
|
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Noah Long, the Chihuahua Aztecs defeated the Campeche Clowns, 4-2. Long was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 for the Aztecs. Cal Stuart earned the save for Chihuahua, his 1st. The defeat makes Campeche 1-1.
Had Caton Tamez not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Tamez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Aztecs.
"We put together a nice win," Long said.
