Indians Nip Brewers, 5-4
|
Cleveland beat Milwaukee at Tecumseh Field, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Anibal Gaines. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. The winning pitcher was Ray Bernard. He's now 13-7. He went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits for the Indians. Sebastian Sienkiewicz notched his 34th save in 40 chances.
The Indians got a big at-bat from left fielder Antony Olguin. For the game, Olguin went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Cleveland a 4-3 lead.
"This was a good win," said Gaines.
The win makes Cleveland 71-74.
