Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Santa Cruz Cruisers home opener. Cal Gilbert started for the home team against Randy Flowers for the San Bernardino Stampede. The Cruisers were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 4-2, San Bernardino. Cal Gilbert, though, was impressive. Halton Silverio snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits over 2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. Alberto Vasconez closed out the game, earning his 1st save.

Dylan Jackson had a direct impact on the outcome. Jackson contributed a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put San Bernardino up, 4-2.
