Blaze Deal Silverados 3-0 Defeat
|
The Bakersfield Blaze had to overcome a good performance from Napa pitcher Tony Eccles to claim a 3-0 win at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Eccles went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Gabriel Howard notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-2. With the win, Bakersfield improves its record to 9-6.
Paolo Pizzolato, the 23-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Pizzolato contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Bakersfield up, 2-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Bakersfield skipper Brian O'Kray.
