Stampede Lose By a Run at Bakersfield
|
The Bakersfield Blaze and San Bernardino Stampede obliged fans looking for a good time.
The Bakersfield Blaze weathered an outstanding game by San Bernardino left fielder Mike Alexander to topple the Stampede, 5-4. Alexander went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The loss drops the Stampede to 4-6.
Matt Schaaf hit a bases-clearing triple off Eugene Morris in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Blaze in front, 5-4. In addition to the triple, Schaaf had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
"I was a little disappointed," said San Bernardino manager Stephon Cohen. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
