Spokane Mettle Tested in Tight 5-4 Win
The Olympia Spartans got a superb performance from pitcher Alfredo Rodriguez, but the Spokane Indians still won the game, 5-4. Rodriguez threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Eugene Morris, who is tied for 3rd in the NWL in wins with 5, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 5-4. At 27-29, the Indians claim 5th place in the Northwest League North Division.

Spokane got a clutch hit from Zachary Ostiguy. The designated hitter launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Ostiguy.
