Owls Win, 5-4, Versus Yakima Valley
|
The Roseburg Owls downed the Yakima Valley Pippins, 5-4, at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Owls were led by D.L. Coleman. Coleman hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Luke Scarpitti earned the save, his 2nd, for the Owls. With the win over Yakima Valley, the Owls improved to 19-33.
Jake David delivered a big hit for Roseburg. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Owls ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"We'll pocket this win," said David, "and then go after another."
