The Gold Beach Sea Unicorns and Medford Flying Tigers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Medford Flying Tigers defeated the Gold Beach Sea Unicorns, 10-2, at Redding Grounds today. Leading the charge for Medford was second baseman Rafael Pabon. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Thor Roberts. He tossed 85 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits.
Pabon had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Flying Tigers went on to win.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Medford manager Jesus Cardone.
Medford goes to 42-17. The win puts them 5 games up in their division.
