Pippins Fall to Cyclones, 10-7
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones beat the Yakima Valley Pippins, 10-7, at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Micah Brown, in particular, was impressive. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Stan Hartman earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 3-1. The 'W' lifts Brooklyn's record to 32-26.
Brooklyn took a 9-6 lead on Brown's 7th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Chance McCoy in the top of the sixth, propelled Brooklyn to the win.
"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Brown, cracking a smile.
