Jamestown Out of Playoff Race
Sunday, August 5th , 2001
The hopes of lifting a championship trophy in Jamestown this year have now vanished. The Jamestown Jammers have been eliminated from postseason contention.

"I'm not happy but I'm trying to come to terms with it," catcher Ryan Doumit said.

The Jammers have missed the playoffs 8 times in their 13 years as a New York-Pennsylvania League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 3rd in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1998. Jamestown last won the Round 2 in 1998.
