Lodi's Davis Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Monday, April 16th , 1979 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Mike Davis today. Davis went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Santa Clara pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Lawrence Park, he had a 5-for-5 line and a day he will long remember. And the Lodi Dodgers had a 10-6 victory over the Padres. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Mike Davis singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th. So far this season Davis has gotten 18 hits in 41 at-bats for a .439 batting average with 1 home run. His stats include 8 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has played in 11 games. |
