Christenson Records Shutout Against Triangles Tuesday, July 31st , 1973 Fans at Devereaux Meadow Park witnessed the Rocky Mount Leafs blank the Raleigh-Durham Triangles, 4-0 behind a superb effort by starter Larry Christenson. The Rocky Mount right-hander allowed 3 hits in recording the shutout. "Larry was good today but I don't want to focus too much on a single game," Rocky Mount manager said later. "If you're capable of playing at this level, you're capable of having a good game. The real question is if you can learn from that game and repeat it." In 20 starts this season, Christenson has recorded 12 wins and absorbed 6 losses. He has pitched 163.1 innings, allowed 133 hits, struck out 100 and has a 2.92 ERA. |
