Fletcher Hot, White Sox Cold
Sunday, July 7th , 1963
"That was one of my best outings," said Tom Fletcher. "I was worried a lot in the bullpen. My ball wasn't quite right. Luckily, it can be two different worlds -- the bullpen and the game. Once I stepped on the field, it all fell into place."
It was an impressive start for the Smokies hurler. He blanked the White Sox 2-0 on a strong 6-hitter while ringing up 9 strikeouts and doling out 4 walks.
In 11 starts this year Fletcher has posted 5 wins while suffering 4 losses. He has pitched 88.1 innings, allowed 85 hits, struck out 52 and has a 3.36 ERA.
