League Gives Patterson Suspension Monday, June 28th , 1976 Dubuque will not have the services of catcher Rick Patterson for several days. The league commissioner has suspended him for 4 games for arguing a third strike call. The altercation occurred in yesterday's contest with the Wisconsin Rapids Twins and involved the home plate umpire. Riled up by being called out, Patterson slightly shoved him after he was ejected. In baseball it is taboo to touch an umpire. To date, Patterson has collected 7 hits for a .280 average. He has posted 1 home run, scored 3 runs and driven in 2 runs. |
