Lakeland Befuddled by Leal in 6-0 Whitewash Friday, June 16th , 1978 Luis Leal was in a zone of his own most of the day, shutting out the Lakeland Tigers on 2 hits. "He was too darn good for us today," grumbled Lakeland manager after the 6-0 loss to the Pompano Beach Cubs. Leal finished with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing. In the postgame press conference, Pompano Beach manager said Leal "had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. He just pitched his butt off." |
