Pompano Beach Lose, 1-0, to Expos, Waslewski

In an outstanding outing, West Palm Beach Expos starter Gary Waslewski tamed the Pompano Beach Mets with a 2-hit shutout at West Palm Beach Municipal Stadium today. The West Palm Beach hurler went the distance, finishing with 3 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 1-0 win.
"He had a lot of first-pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to Pompano Beach manager . "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."
On the season Waslewski has compiled a 11-5 mark with a 2.29 ERA in 16 starts. In pitching 141.1 innings he has 104 strikeouts and 36 walks while limiting the opposition to a .184 batting average.
