Injury Worsens, Return Delayed for Diamondbacks Greer
Friday, October 7th , 2005
Yesterday Arizona right fielder Rusty Greer sustained a setback in his recovery from a strained hamstring. The Diamondbacks medical staff told him it would be at least one week before he will be able to return to action. Greer told reporters, "The healing process has gone extremely well. This is just a little hiccup and a little setback." Apparently Greer worked a little too hard in a recent workout and caused more damage. His doctors have advised him to do only light exercise and give the injury time to heal.
This year, Greer is batting .303 with 123 hits, 12 home runs, 73 RBIs, 38 walks, .363 OBP and has scored 62 runs.
