Pirates Deal Mets 3-2 Loss
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates earned a win at Shea Stadium 1964-1978, stopping the New York Mets, 3-2. Starting pitcher Ernest Milius played a big role in his team's success. The NL East Division-leading Pirates have a record of 91-65.
Tito Fuentes, the 30-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Fuentes contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put Pittsburgh up, 3-2.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said New York manager Dan H.
