Red Sox Dump Orioles, 5-1
Boston starter Ted Miller put a stranglehold on the Baltimore offense. The left-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Red Sox to a 5-1 win. Juan Quintana nailed down his 24th save. Boston now has a 4-game win streak.

One of the clutch hits for Boston came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with one out, Bobby Grich, who led the AL in OPS with .965 in 1972, hit a 2-run single to put the Red Sox up, 3-1. For the game, the second baseman went 1-3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.

"Ted -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Red Sox manager Mike T. "He was the key to us winning."
