The San Francisco Giants picked up a win at Candlestick Park, courtesy of Kevin Brown. The right-hander helped his team stop the St. Louis Cardinals, 2-0. Scott Gully locked down his 39th save. At 59-84, the Giants find themselves in last place in the NL West Division.

The Giants got a big at-bat from third baseman Mike Greenwell. For the game, Greenwell was 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 47th double of the season gave San Francisco a 1-0 lead.

Brown attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
