Canseco Homers Twice in 10-9 Padres Win
San Diego first baseman Jose Canseco contributed to his team's 10-9 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Canseco, who is on pace to hit 42 home runs this season, went 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Padres. Carl Williamson earned the save, his 26th, for the Padres. Cincinnati now has a 5-game losing streak.

Canseco contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for San Diego in the top of the ninth. With his team trailing 9-6, Canseco took a changeup from Allen Edwards and stroked the home run to left. His 39th home run of the season allowed the Padres to leap in front, 10-9.

"It was a solid team effort," Canseco said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
